Sergio Viñoly’s stonework exhibition is currently on display at the Casa de la Cultura Benito Pérez Armas in Yaiza until August 24th.

Viñoly has been carving stone for over 20 years. It is a skill that he fell in love with after he decided to train in stonemasonry at a school workshop. Viñoly says that “it’s hard work, but it’s satisdying to see all the work I’ve been doing.”.

“Stonework is a tradition in the Canary Islands and now we not only have the opportunity to see the work of Sergio, but also to talk to him and know the process of his work and how he cuts stone”, stated Yaiza’s Culture Councillor.

The exhibition can be visited from 9am to 1pm and 5pm to 8pm, with Sergio present in the afternoon to talk to and answer questions from visitors.
